Droppin Droppin Science...

Check it. Aside from the sublime reference, Droppin science is a chunky J. Rocc mixtape of ol'dirty bluenote tunes. Check out the dre sample at about 12 mins. Rocc's composition enters the meta-media realm when he mixes in the original track that dre sampled. Rocc crafts beats around original cuts but in most cases doesn't bother to alter them. Primarily relying on the subtlety of the original jazz and funk drum-kicks for his transitions, the Rocc elevates this mix beyond any volume of Madlib's Mindfusion.

Keep it crucial,

WRMC Spring 2008!!!!!!!

see you tonight at 9pm. its gonna be crazy.

Cut Copy - Lights and Music EP

So I know that right before break we already posted the new Cut Copy Boyz Noize remix, but soon after, Terrorbird sent us the official new Cut Copy EP for the single Lights and Music. Yes, it's all over da blogs, and yes, you might already be listening to it nonstop, but it is epic and therefore deserves a full post.

For those who don't know, Cut Copy hails from Melbourne Australia, the cultural, sports, and now indie dance capital of the country. The group is made up of Dan Whitford (lead vocals/keys/guitar), Tim Hoey (bass/guitar) and Mitchell Scott (drums). The new album In Ghost Colours is scheduled to be released sometime this year. According to the Cut Copy blog (where you can also pre-order the full album), "It is a trans-galactic voyage featuring epic synth breakdowns and more than a sprinkling of Goldsworthy magic." Wow. I can't wait.
